DIRECTIONS IMPORTANT NOTE: The new Highway 49 bypass takes you AROUND historic highway 49 from Sutter Creek to Amador City. To get to Sutter Gold Mine, you MUST be on historic highway 49. From the south, make a right turn on "Old Highway 49." From the north, 2 miles south of Drytown, take the left turn lane with the sign that says "Amador City & Sutter Creek." From Sacramento Take Highway 16 east to Highway 49 south. Turn left towards Amador City and Sutter Creek on historic highway 49. Look for our entrance on the left approximately half a mile south of Amador City, just north of Sutter Creek. From Lake Tahoe Take Highway 89 to Highway 88 west towards Jackson. Turn right on Highway 49 (north). You will need to turn right in Martell to continue on Highway 49 through Sutter Creek. Turn right on "Old Highway 49" towards Sutter Creek and Amador City. Look for our entrance on the right approximately one mile north of historic downtown Sutter Creek. From the Bay Area Take Highway 580 east to Highway 205 to Highway 120 east to Highway 99 north. Follow Highway 99 north to Stockton, then take Highway 88 east to Martell. Turn left in Martell taking Highway 49 north through Sutter Creek. Turn right on "Old Highway 49" towards Sutter Creek and Amador City. Look for our entrance on the right approximately one mile north of historic downtown Sutter Creek. From Southern California Take Highway 99 north to Stockton, then take Highway 88 east to Martell.. Turn left in Martell taking Highway 49 north through Sutter Creek. Turn right on "Old Highway 49" towards Sutter Creek and Amador City. Look for our entrance on the right approximately one mile north of historic downtown Sutter Creek.
